This operation, the first in a series, illustrates a vision for urban distribution that meets the new standards relating to mobility in cities. INDIGO aims to turn some of its car parks into local service and logistics facilities, in full accordance with Paris City Council\u2019s logistics and environmental strategy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\r\n\n<p>The car park will become an urban logistics hub, called Le Pressoir de Bercy, by January 2025, to support streamlined and eco-friendly last-kilometre logistics in a city with less traffic.<\/p>\n\r\n\n<p>Xavier Heulin, INDIGO\u2019s Deputy Managing Director &#8211; Urban Shift, explains:<\/p>\n\r\n\n\n<section class=\"gut-block gut-citation bg-color-blanc\" >\n\t<div class=\"wrap grid-container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"grid-el-tb-10 grid-el-centered\">\n\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"citation\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>INDIGO Group is starting to repurpose some of its underground car parks in Paris, to keep step with the city\u2019s evolving requirements, especially as regards urban logistics. Le Pressoir de Bercy is the first step in an ambitious, unprecedented pilot project that involves developing over 20,000 sq. metres of urban logistics facilities in three city-centre car parks. The upgrades around the 2024 Games and other developments in recent years will help to reshape Paris. INDIGO anticipated these new trends and is supporting them by adapting its infrastructure to accommodate new urban services.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\r\n\n<p>R\u00e9mi Gol\u00e9ger, Associate Director at CORSALIS, a real estate operator specialised in urban logistics and INDIGO\u2019s partner on this project, adds:<\/p>\n\r\n\n\n<section class=\"gut-block gut-citation bg-color-blanc\" >\n\t<div class=\"wrap grid-container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"grid-el-tb-10 grid-el-centered\">\n\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"citation\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Le Pressoir de Bercy is a perfect illustration of our vision for urban logistics. The location was chosen, and the facility was designed, to reduce freight carbon footprints, free up city traffic, and support urban logistics and distribution service providers. We know how to create efficient logistics hubs in the heart of cities without disrupting everyday life in the neighbourhood, without taking over any valuable natural areas, and using the existing architecture.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\r\n\n<p><strong>A Strategic Location for Logistics that Benefit People and the Local Economy<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\r\n\n<p>Le Pressoir de Bercy is in Paris\u2019s 12th arrondissement, only 3 km from Place de la Nation and 100 metres from the Seine\u2019s banks, and links directly to the Boulevard P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique ring road. From here, it can efficiently reach 1.5 million people within 20 minutes by bicycle and more than 5,500 retailers within 20 minutes by van.<\/p>\n\r\n\n<p><strong>A Modular Area Tailored to New Realities in Cities<\/strong><\/p>\n\r\n\n<p>The site, which belongs to INDIGO, will be entirely revamped leveraging CORSALIS\u2019 expertise to meet the requirements of urban distribution professionals.<br>The total 2,000 sq. metre area will encompass:<br>\u2022 An almost 1,250 sq. metre main dock for storage and parking<br>\u2022 A 500 sq. metre mezzanine with additional storage space<br>\u2022 250 sq. metres of communal areas<br>\u2022 25 parking spaces: 13 for vans, 10 for cargo bikes and 2 for trucks<br>It will also have charging stands for electric vehicles, mirroring INDIGO\u2019s commitment to facilitating the energy transition.<\/p>\n\r\n\n<p><strong> INDIGO Becomes a Key Player in Urban Logistics<\/strong><\/p>\n\r\n\n<p>INDIGO intends to meet growing demand for city-centre logistics in Paris and other cities across France.<br>In association with CORSALIS, INDIGO plans to revamp some of its car parks into urban logistics hubs that will improve quality of life for local residents.<br>With these projects, INDIGO intends to contribute to the industrial development of urban logistics by rolling out facilities that meet logistics operators\u2019 needs, respect the existing architecture and include innovative, future-ready solutions.
