In order to better meet the needs of cities and their inhabitants, INDIGO diversifies the uses of its car parks and makes its vision of the “Car Park of the Future” a reality. Its objective is to contribute to the fluidity of urban mobility, to limit pollution and to have a positive impact on the economic activity of the city. INDIGO is developing strategic partnerships with key players in last-mile logistics, including Rexel, a global expert in the distribution of electrical equipment, for the installation of delivery lockers in its car parks. This type of installation contributes to the networking of Rexel’s collection points and reduces the number of trips made by both delivery drivers and buyers.

Since October 2020, a new delivery point has been available for Rexel customers ordering electrical equipment: the Place Victor Hugo car park in Paris. A Rexel Box has been installed there, with a delivery and customer path equipped and secured.

The concept is simple: customers order their equipment online or by phone and choose this delivery point. Their products are delivered the next day at 6 a.m., then they can pick them up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by going to the car park, via a system that allows them to pay the cost of access.

Eight other delivery points are scheduled to open by the end of the first half of 2021 in Paris and the suburbs (Neuilly-sur-Seine and Bagnolet).

“This new innovative system completes our range of services and intensifies our network in the Ile-de-France region. It saves our customers time and ensures that their products are available as close as possible to their worksites and in the shortest possible time. »

Julien Neuschwander, Vice-President Innovation and Services Rexel France

“The collection racks are supplied by delivery drivers on bicycles, cargo bikes or CNG vans, depending on the volume ordered. This project responds to current environmental issues by reducing our carbon footprint and the carbon footprint of our customers. »

Benoît Ribault, Project Manager Rexel France

“Located in the heart of the city with spaces suitable for storage and traffic flows, the location and configuration of INDIGO car parks are key assets in the development of new urban logistics services. Our partnership with Rexel is a concrete illustration of the possible implementations, in line with our societal and environmental objectives. INDIGO has been engaged for several years in an active strategy to develop this type of service. »
